Science 2015—Unleashed!, the University of Pittsburgh’s 15th annual celebration of science and technology, is planned for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7–9 October, at Alumni Hall. Three full days of great science presentations by some of Pittsburgh’s leading researchers are planned, as are keynote lectures by distinguished guest scientists. Also featured will be exhibits, poster sessions, a career development workshop, a new technology showcase, networking opportunities, and more—all built around an inspiring theme: Science 2015—Unleashed!

Registration
Admission to all Science 2015 events is free and open to the public, but registration is required. On-site registration will be available.

Location & Parking
Pitt’s Alumni Hall, located on Fifth Avenue between Lytton and Tennyson Avenues in the heart of the Oakland campus, will be home to the Science 2015 activities. Parking near Alumni Hall is available on the street or in the Soldiers and Sailors Garage at Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard.

Purpose of Event
Science 2015 is designed to showcase the region’s academic strengths in science, engineering, medicine, and computation and to highlight some of the incredible research going on in these areas. It also is intended to demonstrate how this research can be a catalyst for regional economic development; foster collaboration among academic and industrial scientists; and promote the idea that science can be interesting, exciting, and fun.

Target Audience
While all Science 2015 events are free and open to the public, among those likely to be particularly interested are faculty, students, postdoctoral fellows, and research associates from Pitt and other local colleges and universities; representatives of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, information technology, scientific equipment, and related industries; leaders in economic development and philanthropy; representatives of law firms, financial firms, and venture capitalists; and secondary school science teachers.

Poster Sessions
Students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty members are invited to present posters on research related to this year’s Science 2015 symposium sessions. For more information, click here.
